The Nephicide

Greetings! I may present to you one of my biggest personal artworks so far. The moment when I noticed that thr entries for the contest of beautifulbizarremagazine are open, I knew I have to participate and hand in a completely new artwork. I wanted to hand in a piece that reflects my whole knowledge of the craft of painting so far and it had to be something that contains a maximum of my personal interest. As you see in the process the piece is completely executed in procreate . From sketch to polishing and adjustments.(my iPad went burning hot as closer I came to finalizing.) The piece is completely constructed from scratch and challenged my knowledge in perspective, anatomy, composition, lighting, colors, materials and most important storytelling (and also calligraphy!) .
This piece took me around 50 hours from planing, collecting reference and executing. (probably 10 h of it are just starting at it and figuring out what is wrong with it.)
To tell the whole story of those two characters I'd probably need too much text to explain, but I think it's more fun if you guys think of your own story. With a closer look you will find a lot of trashy tattoos that might tell you more about the background. Also you will find a glowing lettering tattoo on her belly. It's the Russian Wort for patience. I think the only thing I want to tell that this is a story about time and maybe love.
